When someone you thought you knew well, someone you loved and cared for, someone you used to think of as a close friend...
...when such a person decides you are no longer part of their life, when messages become shorter and rarer, till there is nothing left but silence, broken only by a few insignificant words here and the occasional misunderstanding and display of hostility there...
...is it anyone's fault, or just the way of the world?
...should you fight for what you once had, or give in, accepting that you can't turn back the wheel of time?
...do you mourn for what you lost, or rejoice in the memories of happier days?

This is for you, my friend, even though I don't think you'll ever see it. And frankly, I don't care. I'm beyond caring, beyond hoping, beyond crying.
Maybe it is more for myself, a way of saying goodbye...because without saying goodbye, there is no letting go...and let go is what I have to do...now....while the memory of the good things still prevails.
