what aamazing focus and details
its wonderful especially the lighting where it highlights certain parts of this insect and the eye is wonderfully focused as well, it ssoemthing you would find in a book -- Life is a bitch, but you can always spay it nice girl, if she had 2 more legs she could star in a western Admin of the ~GreenIguana Wow, this is a really great close-up shot. I could see the fine details on this beetle especially on the 'fur' and the eyes! His eyes looks like fly eyes!
I really wonder how did you take this, you were using f/16.0 yet you still got a shallow (but spot on) dof. If it were my cam, even f/8.0 would give me a really deep dof. Sorry for the question, I'm still a newbie in this -- Less is More.
Thank you! Flies and beetles both have compound eyes, that's why they look similar.
I don't know which camera you use. I only know that I got a much deeper dof with my digital point-and-shoot camera too. I'm not very good at explaining technical stuff so I'm not sure if I get this a 100% right, but generally the dof gets shallower the longer the focal length, so with a 105mm lens I'll get a shallower dof than with a shorter lens. Also, the shorter the distance between lens and subject, the shorter the dof will be. There's a short explanation of how different factors influence dof here: [link] |
