Warning, self promotion below! :D

A while ago I started a second account on DA, another-marble. Didn't post about it here because I wanted to see if I'd get comments and favs even without bringing a bunch of loyal watchers with me. I'm done with the experiment now, so check it out if you're interested. :) It's mostly street photography. Some examples:
Looking up by another-marbleThe cheetah and the boy by another-marbleThe hug by another-marbleThe cheetah strikes again by another-marble
Lurking in the shadows... by another-marbleConversation by another-marbleWaiting by another-marble

On another note, I had two of my wisdom (haha, I mistyped it as "wisdoom" first, and not just once) teeth removed yesterday. If you haven't had the pleasure, there are some nice videos on YouTube about wisdom teeth extraction (like - warning, not for the faint of heart, you might find it gross - www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY459k… ). I'm drowsy from the painkillers and want to eat some real food, not just baby food that's almost liquid, but right now it's tricky enough to open my mouth wide enough to get a spoon in. Doesn't taste too good anyway, blood and disinfection agent aroma sucks. :bleh:
At least the buggers are out now, I've put it off long enough due to being a chicken. Now they are in a glass jar and I can punish them as much as I want to. :evillaugh: (But one's in pieces already, it had to be sectioned so it could be taken out more easily.)
So, that's what I've been up to. How about you?

Thanks!
The pain's ok, took the last painkiller on Friday and it hurts only a tiny bit. The swelling's still there, though (and that's normal too, according to the info sheet I got it's normal to have swollen hamster cheeks even 5 days after the operation) and I'm still on baby food. Hope I can chew properly once the stitches are out.

Glad you like my other photos too!

I can still only chew on the other side. Can take a couple of weeks before it's fully healed. But it feels much better now that the stitches are out.

Nah, not 50% as I apparently only have 3 wisdom teeth, not four. And yeah, fun indeed. :( I wanna chew something and eat something spicy but can't.

I'll probably have the remaining tooth remained at some point too but that one should be less nasty, it's already out, so it would take just a normal extraction. Plus that one's in my upper jaw, and the other one in the upper jaw was easy too, only took like 5 minutes despite the fact that it was still covered by gingiva. It's the one in the lower jaw that took a while before it could be removed at all.

gingiva? that's what they call it, sounds like a spice :giggle:

ooh I thought two were removed, c'dear, what would I do without eating spicy food! I so would not feel right lol :(

it'll heal soon and then you can eat all the spice you want :D

Yeah, dictionary says that's what it's called. You're right, sounds like ginger. :D

I've really gotten used to spicy food since I know my boyfriend and his mum's cooking.

I don't think I noticed mine until well after 20.
If you're lucky, they might fit in nicely and not cause any problems at all. :)

Thanks, it's a lot better already. The thing that bothers me most is not being able to eat anything decent (solid, crispy, spicy). :D

My horror story happened when an idiot dental student tried to remove a wisdom tooth that was attached to my jawbone as a normal extraction. It ended up coming out the old fashioned way, with one nurse holding me down, another with a knee on my chest and me with a mouthful of stitches :O_o: I went to see a seasoned dentist when the other 3 had to come out, that was a better experience, and the dentist was cute =D

I have another account... for similar reasons. A couple of my watchers have stumbled into it but it's still pretty much ignored :P

They've got to learn somehow...but I don't think anyone wants to be their guinea pig. :D The dentist that did mine seems to be seasoned enough, at least he's a university professor and my regular dentist (who's ok) recommended him. Can't call him cute, though, and the receptionist in his office is a scary old bitch that bosses around everyone, patients as well as nurses.
Does getting the stitches out hurt?

What's on your other account? Photography too, or something else?

My old dentist looked like Heathcliff, actually the new guy is quite easy on the eye also :bucktooth:
My gum stitches were the dissolving variety so they came out by themselves.

My other account is photography, a bit of spare street and experimental.

Heathcliff the cat or Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights? :giggle:

I want that variety too! But maybe he wants to make sure people don't forget about their follow-up appointment.

I'll have to do some browsing and stumbling, maybe I'll find it that way! :D

Heathcliff the cat... indeed! :evileye:

He was rather lovely, black curly hair, intense green eyes... tall dark and handsome :P
During one visit, there was romantic music playing on the radio, a look of deep concentration on his tanned brow and oh, those intense green eyes peering over the top of his surgical mask... and his fist jammed in my mouth :bucktooth: It struck me as funny so I started laughing, not easy to do with a rubber block, dental tools and someone's fist jammed in your pie hole. He thought I was choking and stopped everything to make sure I was alright. I told him I'd just thought of something funny but couldn't share the joke :blushes: He asked me to please go share the joke with the other patients in the waiting room, it must be good as it was his first experience of stopping work because the person in the chair was having an attack of the giggles ;P

I bet they get that like once every ten years that someone starts giggling in a similar situation.

A very successful experiment
ALTHOUGH ?? you never stated the aims ?? OR have given any results ??

(MAYBE I MISSED THEM ?:))
..............................................................

Topic=Teeth ! ... "it had to be sectioned" ... Hmm?? an insane tooth !!

As to what I have bee doing !.......
I have been pretending I have no need to visit the dentist ! against all the evidence :)

Please carry on with the "other" you know who ! :)

One of the aims was finding out if people would watch me and comment on those photos even if they didn't know me already, if I started more or less from scratch. And some really did!

Teeth growing in the wrong place/way are all insane! :D

Sorry for mentioning teeth (I didn't actually mention the dentist, did I?). Hope the "evidence" isn't too convincing?

I intend to carry on with both marbles!

SO . one conclusion is ... although you are lacking in all your teeth ! you will keep ALL your marbles ??

( I wonder is there a saying like that? where you are ???:)

Nope, we don't have any marble-related sayings to express that someone is going crazy.

"He's lost his marbles" could be translated as "Er hat nicht mehr alle Tassen im Schrank" (literal meaning: he no longer has all his cups in the cupboard).

Thanks Marwa!
I don't usually get a lot of tooth-related pain either, it's just that the jaw's too small for those damn wisdom teeth and they can't come out normally. One was vertical, pushing against the tooth in front of it. That's why it had to go.

Your brother is a dentist? :wow: Does he like his job?
Messing around in other people's mouth is something I really wouldn't want to do. :D

I've one left, but that one shouldn't be too complicated. It's out already, but useless and hard to clean. The two I had taken out were still covered by skin/gingiva and had to be cut out. One was really bothering me so I'm glad they are gone.
